The 20 Houston companies with the most layoffs since January 2019

With the fresh news of Occidental Petroleum announcing layoffs last week, Chron.com compiled the 20 Houston companies with the most layoffs since January 2019.

Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center announced plans to lay off nearly 600 workers in May after the hospital’s parent company, HCA Houston Healthcare, transformed the hospital into a freestanding emergency center. In March, Avella Specialty Pharmacy announced it was shuttering and laying off nearly 160 employees.

Occidental Petroleum, fresh off its merger with The Woodlands-based Anadarko Petroleum, announced the layoffs in January, although specific numbers are not yet available.
