Schools, businesses temporarily close as Tropical Storm Beta expected to bring heavy rain

Several area schools and attractions are closed on Monday as Tropical Storm Beta floods the Texas coast and heavy rain is expected in Houston.

The storm is expected to make landfall on Monday evening and is predicted to become a depression by the time it reaches the Bayou City.
