Since the pandemic began, H-E-B has worked to help its community and its employees, and now they’re taking it one step further. H-E-B’s pharmacy will be a part of Texas’ COVID-19 vaccine distribution.
The news comes after the company just recently gave employees a bonus for working during the pandemic, as well as increasing pay for employees long-term.

The grocery store will be distributing the COVID-19 vaccine soon alongside 4,000 other health systems and pharmacies in the state. Governor Greg Abbott announced earlier this week that 4,000 could quickly turn into 6,000.

In a statement Thursday, H-E-B said the safety of Texas is its top priority.
“As a trusted source for all routine childhood and adult immunizations, H-E-B pharmacies will partner with the federal and state government to administer the COVID-19 vaccine when it becomes available to the general public, following the CDC distribution schedule. H-E-B is proud to continue our long-term tradition of taking care of Texans.”
KEEPING TRACK OF VACCINES: Once distributed, Texas will keep track of who receives a COVID-19 vaccine
Texas is going to receive about 1.4 million doses later this month, and healthcare workers and long-term care residents are first in line to receive the vaccine.
