Driver arrested after throwing woman off hood of car in Fort Bend County

A man was arrested Thursday after throwing a woman from the hood of a car in a Fort Bend County neighborhood, according to authorities.

The driver, identified by the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office as Watts Vaughan, 49, was charged with DWI and aggravated assault, authorities said.

The woman was taken to a hospital in critical condition after she was thrown from the car at Rock Fence Drive and Morton League Road in the Pecan Grove subdivision. Authorities said the man intentionally swerved to get her off.

It’s unclear why the woman was on the car in the first place.
