Body dumped at ER after west Houston bar fight turns deadly

A man was found dead in the driveway of an emergency room in west Houston late Wednesday night.

Police connected the body to a bar fight that spilled into the streets and erupted into gunfire along Richmond Avenue around 11:30 p.m. Detectives believe the man was with a group of three men at the H20 Sports Bar in the 9200 block of Richmond when they got into some sort of argument with another group.

That scuffle moved into the parking lot, where the trio got into a car and drove away. Moments later, they were fired upon along Richmond near Fondren, police said.

One of the men was struck. That’s when the driver took him to HCA West Houston along Richmond and West Houston Center Boulevard, dumping him in the driveway before speeding off.

He was pronounced dead at the ER, police said.

Police did not release any descriptions of the suspects. The victim’s identity was not immediately released.
