The human foot will evolve into one big toe

In a 1911 lecture on heredity delivered before the Royal College of Surgeons of England, Richard Clement Lucas predicted that  the “useless outer toes” will become used less and less, so that “man might become a one-toed race.”

There was no mention on what we would do if we stubbed our foot on the couch leg.

Human feet become one big toe, robot therapists, and Amazon women: 20 Weird predictions for 2020

We have all joked about having flying cars and rocket backpacks by this time, like the cartoons promised.

It seems the year 2020 was so far out in the future that many prognosticators envisioned major leaps in technology and evolution by now.

So while we deal with the realities of being stuck in traffic and grounded on Earth, take a look at some of the stranger things “experts” predicted we would be enjoying by now.
